In our second instalment of the St. Agni At Home series we had the pleasure of speaking with Georgia Rollin, Associate Buyer at Moda Operandi. Based in New York City and originally from Australia, Georgia has unique insight into what it means to stay home and connect with family from afar. We asked her questions around her WFH routine in NYC and most importantly her WFH outfits, offering some inspiration while we all stay-in.
What do you do?
Associate Buyer, Moda Operandi
First thing you did this morning?
Big glass of water and check my emails
What keeps you hopeful?
The amazing spirit of NYC in adversity- we sing "New York, New York" as a neighbourhood at 7pm every night with our neighbours. Nothing can defeat New Yorkers.
What does your day look like whilst practicing social distancing?
Wake up, shower, have a coffee with my husband, sit at our dining table and work together for the morning. My husband and I usually prepare lunch together and eat together. Back to work in the afternoon. Then around 5pm I do a zoom workout with my friends in Australia. After that my husband and I take a walk along the Hudson River. We usually order take away on the way home (supporting our favorite West Village locals) and we eat together sometimes over a bottle of wine. We then usually call family back in Australia. I usually jump into bed after this and read a few chapters of my book.
How do you think the pandemic will change how people will want to dress?
I believe people will be buying more meaningfully and considered. I think more people will become interested in and take notice of sustainable brands and practices and be buying into items they truly love and want to wear over and over again
What does your WFH outfit look like? have you been dressing for the Key board up?
Definitely living in knits and sweaters (its still a little cold in NYC) and comfortable cotton or linen pants (jeans when I am feeling fancy!) Shoes optional
What are you most looking forward to post-isolation?
A Negroni from Dantes (our favourite West Village restaurant)
The environment is seeing benefits from social isolation, what is the biggest silver lining for you during this time?
Connecting to friends and family across the globe (via FaceTime). Usually I take this for granted but when human contact is scarce chatting for hours on the phone can really change my day for the better
What are you grateful for?
Our neighbourhood community. Although we are all standing 6 ft apart everyone is smiling and supporting one and another, waiting for the day that NYC returns to her former glory
Favourite St. Agni pieces?
Amo Flared Pants and matching Taille Blazer obviously! I love the Ryoko tanks in all colours, as well as the Arlo ribbed button up shirt in every colour- match back to the Lia Ribbed Skirt or Enzo Ribbed Pants and you have a killer outfit!
