St. Agni by Outland Denim
About Outland Denim
Outland Denim was founded on high ground, both ethically and geographically. Born on an Australian mountaintop, the brand was created with the makers in mind, combining passion, purpose, and the enduring practicality of a trustworthy pair of denim jeans.
In 2011, founder James Bartle came up with a plan to provide jobs for young women in need after learning about the devastating impact of human trafficking. A few years later, James could be found sitting in a cafe in Cambodia, surrounded by bolts of denim, scissors, and cardboard cutouts, figuring out how to create a high-quality pair of jeans with a small, eager-to-learn team.
As time went on, the brand purchased its own wash house facility, outfitted with industry-leading technology from Jeanologia, to complement its production house and gain complete oversight and environmental stewardship over the manufacturing process.
This led to the creation of a growing collection of effortless, timeless, and coveted denim and complementary apparel. Outland Denim also became the first Australian and second global denim brand to achieve B Corporation certification.
Thanks to a growing number of enlightened customers and a world rapidly moving toward sustainability, Outland Denim has been able to fulfill its mission of providing work to victims of human trafficking. This has positioned the brand at the forefront of global citizenship in the fashion industry.
Each pair of jeans not only spares the earth but also uplifts the women who skilfully craft each garment.
Environmental Sustainability
Denim is a major contributor to environmental degradation and Outland Denim aims to revolutionise jean manufacturing by leading the industry in reducing its collective environmental footprint. Over time, the brand strives to eliminate the negative impacts of the fashion industry on the planet.
Outland Denim is working with global partners to develop projects that reduce the environmental impact of both production and consumption. Within its own facilities, the brand leverages innovative technology to significantly decrease water, energy, and chemical usage, as well as waste. Their strict supply chain standards ensure that every raw material supplier aligns with their values and demonstrates leadership in sustainability.
Outland Denim’s vision is to create a manufacturing ecosystem and product lifecycle that not only minimises their current environmental impact but also leaves the planet in a better state for future generations.
